Book "FAIR"

Okay, so you've all heard of "Book Fairs," right?  Well, there is a whole new meaning to the subject of "Book Fairs" at our house!  AL and AA were so excited that the Book Fair was coming to their school. They got to go with their class to pick one book that they really wanted. The teacher sent home a note saying which book they wanted and how much money they needed to bring back in order to purchase the book.  We chose not to buy the books because it wasn't something that was necessary and we just recently purchased some books for the children at the Edward Mckay Used Book Store in Fayetteville.  Well, the last day of the Book Fair came and I told the girls to tell the teacher that we were not going to buy anything at the fair at this time.  So imagine my surprise when they came home with the books that they had selected.  

I said, "Girls I told you that we were not going to buy those books."  

They said, "Mrs. B. said she had some extra money that was sent in and that she wanted us to have the books."  

I said, "But we don't need those books."

AL responded, "Mommy, Mrs. B said that it is a book fair."

I said, "yes, I know."

She said, "So it's not "fair" if everyone in class gets a book and not us.  That's why it's called a Book "Fair", get it...Book "Fair"."  

What else can I say!  So Funny!

Show me the money!!

We were sure that we were going to catch the Richest of those Irish tricksters with these state of the art Leprechaun traps!  AL and AA have spent the past two weeks at school preparing for the Leprechaun invasion!  Their Kindergarten teachers are wonderful and have spent the past two weeks preparing them for this day!  The Leprechauns pulled quite a few tricks on us this year, at home and at school!  They messed up the classroom, (I think they get our house everyday!), they forgot to flush down the Green mess in the toilets at school and home, they wrote on the table at school with shaving cream, left a bit o' gold for the girls and to top it off painted our entire families noses green while we were sleeping!  Wish we had a picture of that one for you.  AL and AA  had a great St. Patricks Day party...even without catching those Leprechauns, Ivan and Latrina!

Our Daddy Daughter Date!

The girls had a Date with Dad on Saturday night!  The Theme of the date was "A Polished Daughter of God".  They all got to sing karaoke and Dad got to paint the girls fingernails and then topped it all off with Ice Cream Sundaes!  When the girls got home the first thing they said to me was,  "Mom, Dad ate an M&M!"  Evidently the highlight of the night!

Harnett Off Broadway

HC is a member of her school's Music Club and she had a solo for their performance!  She sang "You're a Grand Old Flag"!  She stole the show!  She really did an amazing job!  She also taught the movements to their Finale number.  A born leader!  She rocked tonight!
We were happily surprised when it was announced that HN had won 2nd place in the Harnett County Art Contest for 3-5 grade.  She was tickled pink!!  Here she is with her ADORABLE entry!  We are so proud of her!!  The girls were the only 2 students that were recognized from their school- HC as the Soloist and HN for her Artwork!  You go girls!!  March 12, 2009

Singing in the Rain!

Here we are at Pope Air Force Base.  This is just after you enter the gate- which I might add is like Ft. Knox.  It's impossible to get through that gate!  This picture is with Flat Stanley and Flat McKenzie!  It was raining so hard by the time we got back to our car we were dripping wet!

Our Trip to Jambas Ranch

We are so excited to get this blog up and running! I have so many things that I want to share with all of my family and friends and I'm wondering how I'll ever catch up...so I won't. I'll just have to start today!

This was our trip to Jambas Ranch The kids had a great time!

HN has been wanting a new puppy for as long as I can remember!

HN and JT are very close, when Mommy is not around HN is his person of choice-Don't get me wrong JT loves

his other sisters but HN and JT have a very special bond!

JT thought that the goats were very cool! Mom thought they were going to eat him! But that didn't seem to bother him!

AL loved the puppies of course too! In fact she actually sang one of them to sleep-he snuggled right down!

AA couldn't get enough of these puppies either and highly protested when we had to go. At $350 for each puppy it wasn't too hard for Mom and Dad to leave! Not to mention that big dogs mean big poop!

AL didn't even shudder a bit while holding this snake. She thought it was fantastic as did HC who of course would love to take it home, too!

As you can see they loved the puppies the most!

This zoo also had Buffalo, an Ostrich, Camels, Llamas, Elk, Alligators, Goats, Sheep, White Tailed Deer, and a bunch of others. The terrain was beautiful and even had a really cool large suspended bridge that was a little creepy to cross and a gold mine as well. Good Times!
